<p>One of the biggest misconceptions about family in our country is that we owe them something. Many Americans feel that there should be a duty to parents and extended family, regardless of the situation. This is absolute bullshit.</p>
<p>Just because two knuckleheads get drunk on their first date and decide to bone doesn’t entitle them to be treated like kings and queens by that child. Especially if they are horrible to the person that they gave life to. And boy, are there some crazy family situations that are out of control these days.</p>
<p>With the United States on the brink of civil war due to politics and religion, one wonders how so many families even keep it together. Many elderly people tend to be quite religious and conservative. Some of them are racist or bigoted.</p>
