How the 1930's Gangsters Changed Our Gun Laws
<p>June, 1933. What seemed like a typical, summer day in the midwest soon turned extremely violent when several law enforcement officers, armed with shotguns and pistols, squared off against desperate killers with machine guns.</p>
<p>The shootout became known as the “Kansas City Massacre” after four officers were killed outside of Kansas City’s Union Railway Station.</p>
<p>They were part of a group of officers escorting convicted murderer Frank Nash back to the US Penitentiary at Leavenworth, Kansas, from which he had escaped on October 19, 1930.</p>
