A French in America: You Are Invited

I will always remember my first outings in New York. It was a big change from my Parisian life and I learned a lot about people. I tried as best as I could to adapt to the life of the city, to understand its codes and to try and behave as little like a French as possible.

Every Thursday, I met a few people I considered acquaintances during the opening nights of the galleries between 19th Street and 28th Street on 10th Avenue and 11th Avenue. On Thursdays, a number of art galleries stay open late to celebrate their new exhibitions or events. There is food and drinks. Everyone is welcome. The events are an opportunity to meet people from different avenues of life.
