My Journey of Self-Studying French from Scratch (A 2-Year Report)
<p>Can we learn a foreign language entirely on our own ?</p>
<p>Lately, I’ve been receiving some direct messages, so I thought I’d take the opportunity to share my experience and process of learning French.</p>
<ol>
<li>I started learning French in April 2021 during the COVID period, without any prior exposure to the language. From April to August, I dedicated <strong>at least 80 hours per month</strong> to studying.</li>
<li>I wanted to <strong>experiment </strong>(in an EXTREME way) and see <strong>if it’s possible to learn a language ENTIRELY on my own, starting FROM SCRATCH (without the guidance of a teacher or a language partner).</strong> This includes listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills, I relied <strong>SOLELY </strong>on <strong>online resources </strong>and books to support my learning.</li>
