The artwork was one of Banksy’s signature rats. The man walked over and tugged it off the wall, with the hopes of being able to sell it for money. Some of Banksy’s artwork can go for upward of $2 million. In 2004, he tried to get the artwork authenticated. The Pest Control refused to give him a certificate because they knew the artwork was stolen meaning this man wouldn’t be able to make the profit he was hoping to.
