A month abroad — day #0 and flying for the first time

After 25 years without seeing the world from just above the clouds, it was time for a change — on May 2nd, 2023, I flew in an airplane for the first time in my life.

A little backstory

As remote workers, my partner and I were discussing all the possibilities this work arrangement has to offer; traveling frequently, experiencing other cultures for a while, and feeling what the locals feel is what we decided needs to be an integral part of our youth.

Our first stop on this adventure: Athens, Greece.

I visited Athens over 7 years ago as a part of a school trip, and after not having that good of a time, I promised myself I had to visit once again at some point in my time on Earth — this do-over was intended so I could properly see all the chiseled marble bodies and Corinthian columns while eating Giros with someone I adore as Zeus and all his disciples intended.
