My Disability Was Fetishized When I Was a Child

<p>InApril of 2022 I was diagnosed with a genetic condition. I&rsquo;d had it my whole life and no one had ever paid me enough notice to give my suffering a name. Because I was suffering. From the time I was born, this condition caused medical issues including daily pain and chronic fatigue.</p> <p>The most obvious symptoms of my condition garnered a fair bit of attention.
