“The Fear Of Everything”

“The fears we don’t face become our limits.”

The thing that restricts a person from achieving anything in life, whether it’s in the perspective of love, career, or relationships, is fear. It’s like termites that hollow a person from the inside. The problem with fear is that we let it get the better of us. We perceive it as an overwhelming feeling that leaves us paralyzed both physically and mentally.

What comes to your mind when you think about fear? People might think of specific phobias or something similar. The fear I’m referring to is a pervasive one — the fear of everything. It’s the fear that prevents you from approaching someone attractive, the fear that hinders you from doing something creative or unique, the fear of failure in life or in a particular endeavor, and the fear of rejection.

So, my point is that fear is the only thing standing between you and your goals and ambitions. I’ll discuss fear in every phase of life, from childhood to death.

Visualize a 6 or 7-year-old child trying to learn to ride a bicycle. What fear might they have? The fear of falling down. They know deep down that they’ll fall once they look behind, anticipating that their father has let go of the bicycle. Still, they look back, an overwhelming feeling washes over them, and they fall.

Moving forward to adolescence, there’s the fear of not being liked by fellow classmates or not being part of a group. Some children refrain from trying to be a part of a particular group, even though they know that those are the kind of people they relate to. The fear of exclusion prevents them from taking that step. Moreover, the fear of not being popular in school can drive a well-behaved student to engage in risky behavior, like selling drugs, just to fit in and solve their self-esteem issues.
