Decolonizing the Discourse: The UN in Africa a failure by design
<p>Simultaneously, as the UN Climate Change Conference was drawing to a close, my frustration deepened. This extravagant event, attended by thousands of delegates from across the globe, unfolded as a multi-million dollar spectacle on climate change, all at the expense of taxpayers. What intensified my ire was the record-breaking attendance of big oil lobbyists at a conference ostensibly focused on addressing the climate crisis. These are issues that merit their own exploration, and I intend to delve into them in a subsequent blog entry. For now, my focus is directed squarely at the United Nations (UN) and its manufactured failings on the African continent.</p>
