About a photographer — Ezra Mizrahi

My name is Ezra Mizrahi, and I am a photographer/artist currently travelling between Taiwan and Australia. I create work which I guess could be described as erotica. I don’t really explain it that way; in fact, I don’t really explain, describe, or discuss my work often — not because I don’t like to, but because I think it is best left up to the viewer to decide on what the work means to them. When I do talk about art or photography, it’s usually about other artists, like the photographers Nobuyoshi Araki and Hajime Sawatari. I am also a fan of “pinku eiga” or “pink films”, especially ones by the director Koji Wakamatsu. I think these influences find their way into my work.

I have had wonderful experiences with the team at Venue, and with Taiwan in general. In 2018 I was invited to have some of my Polaroid work exhibited at Venue, and in January 2019 I was fortunate to give a talk on ten of my photographs.
