Important Question for everyone (AI / election season/s)
<p>A national news anchor said yesterday, “I’ve never encountered AI in the wild”… I said to the screen, “If you’ve looked at social media you have”. That’s the truth, every internet search and pretty much every feed you consume is crafted using artificial intelligence, to some degree these days. So an important question for those of you who use technology, but may not understand how it works: “Is it possible that the media you are consuming, the content, including videos, images, or text, was crafted specifically to affect your behavior? (I mean crafted specifically for you)” … the answer from a basic technological capacity / cost perspective is: YES, that’s very possible. The more important question which is a cliff hanger for conspiracy theorists is: “does anyone have the capacity or desire to do such a thing maliciously and without the consumer’s knowledge / consent?”… I’ll refrain from discussion</p>
