Most New Drugs Suffer from Moderate to Severe Ineffectiveness
<p>There’s a scene in an episode of the Big Bang Theory in which Bernadette is all excited because an anti-inflammatory drug she’s worked on for five years just got FDA approval.</p>

<p>All fun and games on the Big Bang. But Big Pharma has its share of “eh” drugs, too. And new research reveals that those glossy, gauzy TV and video ads showing shiny happy (formerly sick) people are a schtick often meant to mask a remarkable lack of effectiveness of the fancy schmancy new pharmaceuticals they promote.</p>
