<p>Eight Tucuxis and two Amazon river dolphins are circling around our small boat. We are floating on the Amazon river, navigating the border between Colombia and Peru. The Tucuxis — the “jumping river dolphins” — are splashing around, showing their apparent joy in life in pairs, while the 200+ kg Amazon river dolphins — the “pink river dolphins” — flaunt their impressive ridged backs, exhaling loudly as they break the surface, as if with a satisfied sigh.</p>
