Dear Suitcase: I Don’t Want to Get on the Road Again

<p><em>Below is a January 10, 2010 post I published on Theme for Great Cities, my old blog where I documented nearly a decade of my expat adventures and musings (from 2008 to 2017). I wrote this one three years and four months after leaving New York City and moving to Buenos Aires, where I&rsquo;d remain based for another 13 months or so. I had recently sold my NYC apartment and was about to return there for only the second time since leaving the United States.</em></p> <p><em>This would end up being a pivotal year in my life. That autumn, I&rsquo;d visit Australia for the first time (it would become my next home base in March of 2011) and meet the man who would become my husband six years later.
