Australia Day unity?

I’ve read not insignificantly on this including Cook’s Log/Journal, Tim Flannery’s essays from the 1990s, Buckley’s account of his 30 years with the Aborigines, the First Fleet writings and Collin’s, Batman’s & Fawkner’s attempts to settle Victoria.

Does the ‘anti’ side of this debate mean we can – in this country – never celebrate the spirit of adventure and pioneering settlement that the European explorers of that day accomplished here?

I’m fascinated by the idea of bringing everything you need – technology, seeds, animals, people from all walks of life, government, building materials – to restart civilization on the other side of the world.
