Stories that ventured into the farcical but were conveyed to me and my schoolmates as unfaltering dogma.</p> <p>Now, I am a man. I know what it means to face danger and endure hardship. I know love and heartbreak. I know the moment your life changes when you become a parent. I know the frailty of being a man. I recognize the lies I&rsquo;ve been told to get me to surrender to the toxicity of manhood. Approaching 50, I can declare that these alleged feats of white manhood were lies.</p> <p>I spent the last decade learning and analyzing the systems of oppression which imprison us. Studying taught me how these tall tales shaped our country and reinforced harmful beliefs.
