A Twist in the Corporate Tale*

In what seemed like a breezy, informal gathering, a series of unexpected twists awaited us, setting the stage for a dramatic week of collaboration and understanding. On a serene Friday, the ever-curious Carlos sparked a discussion that would steer our project down a fresh, uncharted path. With a hearty confidence, I pitched a one-week delay to the impending product launch, an idea embraced warmly by my trusted ally, John, months earlier. Little did I know, my foresight would soon come into play, turning our meeting into a spirited brainstorming session.

As the day waned, Carlos delivered news that took me by surprise: a bold pivot in our product launch strategy, aiming to better serve our teams in Singapore and Indonesia. This shift in direction, guided by Samuel, Carlos’s manager, hoped to grant our diligent press release team a well-deserved respite before the big day. Yet, a tinge of dissatisfaction clouded my spirit, as I found the reasoning a bit thin, given that a different team was spearheading the launch. Adding to my dismay was the slight detour from my initial suggestion, a move I had hoped would be discussed as a unit. Yet, with a soldier’s resolve, I chose to march forward, embracing the change with an open heart and mind.
