<p>Gerald S. Adolph was born on December 30, 1953, in the metropolis of New York City. He grew up during a post-war boom when the city’s economy thrived. In Gerald’s family, his father, Leroy Adolph, worked as a New York City Department of Sanitation worker. Gerald witnessed his father’s dedication and hard work as he tirelessly maintained the cleanliness and sanitation of the city. Leroy’s job involved collecting all types of waste, from rotten food to dead bodies, and he faced the challenges of working long hours in all weather conditions. Despite the physically demanding nature of the job, Leroy found purpose in contributing to the city’s overall well-being and appreciated the support he received from the community.
