Here is why I love Athens and you should consider travelling there in Summer 2020

Athens is the birthplace of our civilisation. The origin of our democracy and cultural hotspot for philosophers and artists. Athens. A place where creativity stands above money. A vibrant hub between the middle east and Europe. A place where people enjoy living.

No matter if you visit for a day, over the weekend or you take your time to explore the city, make sure you see one of its hidden gems and exceptional cultural sights.

But first things, first. Due to Covid-19 a stay at a designated hotel and a negative test followed by a 7 days quarantine was required to enter Greece. In case of a positive test a supervised 14 days stay has been necessary. Since June 15th Greece restrictions have been eased and Greece has reopened its doors for international travel. In the bridge phase till 30th of June guests from risk areas are tested at a designated hotel — again followed by either 7 or 14 days of quarantine. All other tourists undertake random tests upon arrival. From July 1st onwards the rules will be somewhat relaxed. With 190 recorded deaths, Greece has a comparatively low Covid-19 rate — one of the best in Europe.
