Video Games for Conservation
<p>Wouldn’t it be nice to reconcile what’s enjoyable and what’s important? Hobbies versus careers, sitting on the sofa versus exercising, gorging on hobnobs versus actually being healthy. What about video games versus saving wildlife, or solving the climate crisis?</p>
<p>Short of some miracle technology, it’s impossible to do one of these things while also doing the other. If that packet of hobnobs is shrinking, your waistline probably isn’t. But is there a reason why I can’t currently both play games and help save the planet? The UN doesn’t think so: UNEP’s Playing for the Planet has been running a successful Green Game Jam since 2020, and companies like Internet of Elephants have been founded on this very premise.</p>
