<p>The library <strong>was founded in 1592</strong> as part of Trinity College, which was established by Queen Elizabeth I. Its primary purpose was to serve as a resource for scholars and researchers, and it has continued to fulfill this role to this day.</p>
<p><strong>Thomas Burgh was the first librarian </strong>of Trinity College Library in the early 17th century. He was responsible for organizing and cataloging the library’s collection, and his efforts laid the foundation for the library’s continued success.</p>
<p>Over the centuries, the library has continued to grow and expand its collections. <strong>During the 18th and 19th centuries, the library acquired many important manuscripts and books, including the Book of Kells and the Book of Durrow.</strong></p>
