Climate change protesters can be extremely annoying

Yes, aviation accounts for 2% of carbon emissions. So, let’s attack an aging individual. I don’t know Ryanair’s CEO’s background. He does happen to be an executive, so what? I mean, these girls literally attacked him. “Pie in the face” is attacking. Who raised these kids? I have four kids, and they have strong views on all kinds of things. The moment they attack someone to express their convictions, however virtuous, will reflect poorly on my parenting. I’ve always taught them to respect everyone, including those who hold vastly different opinions.

Now, at this very moment, I’m watching the US Open. Coco Gauf is playing Muchova. The play is interrupted because of the environmental protesters. There is chaos, by the looks of it, and it will take some time before the play resumes.

“At least one person glued their shoes to the ground, making removing them harder.”

I expect someone to react along these lines: well, these athletes are privileged anyway, and sports is entertainment —no big deal.

Well, no. You have two hard-working athletes — female in this case — doing their job, performing under pressure, and, yes, entertaining the crowd.

What are the protesters trying to achieve with their outrageous acts? Dumb pretenders who’ve probably done nothing meaningful in their lives to help address the problems the world’s facing. Their acts achieve the opposite of their intentions. Disrespectful and outrageous stunts do not help address anything.

For the record, I’m working on several projects in the sustainability space. But I’m against hysteria and disrespect, in whatever plane of life or business.
