Civilization’s First Kiss
<p>According to the New York Times in a article<em> Who Kissed First by Franz Linz 2/13/24:</em> Recent research indicates people have been kissing each other on the lips at least a thousand years before previously thought. Studies of the Mesopotamia culture led researchers to adjust their dates of the first kiss from 3500 years ago in South Asia to over 4500 in an area now comprising Iraq and Syria.</p>
<p>In examining historical records kept on clay tablets a team of archeologists from Oxford University and the University of Copenhagen in Denmark discovered kissing was considered part of romantic intimacy in ancient times and also a sign of love between family and friends.</p>
