Calculate Quantum Euclidean Distance with Qiskit

Calculating distance is a crucial operation in many fields. We define Euclidean distance, specifically, as the length of a line segment between two points in Euclidean space, where Euclidean space is the most fundamental way we represent space in geometry. Many of us have used it at least once in academia, work, or everyday life.

So, how do you calculate the quantum version of Euclidean distance with Qiskit?

We explored this problem in order to study use cases for 6G mobile communication networks using quantum computing, due to its promising features. Earlier this year, I, along with Pablo Picazo-Martínez and Jose F. Monserrat, presented an indoor localization based on Quantum Euclidean Distance, programmed in Qiskit and executed on IBM Quantum systems, at the 2022 IEEE International Conference on Communications (ICC).
