Busman’s Holiday in Amsterdam (2): Art

As said before, I was extremely fortunate to have booked a ticket for the Vermeer exhibition. Before the day of visit, everytime I passed the Rijksmuseum I always saw a horribly long queue that coiled up nearby. There wasn’t much other instruction on the E-ticket, so in the very morning, I simply arrived early and found out how to behave onsite.

It was a cold morning ye there were already two long queues half an hour before the first entry slot. Two Chinese women in front of me suddenly turned and showed me their tickets on the phone, asking if they got the right tickets to the Vermeer exhibition. Unfortunately, they didn’t. I bet that many people who weren’t too familiar with museum ticketing didn’t understand that entry tickets don’t equate exhibition entry. This mistake appears more often when foreign tourists purchase package tour through agencies. The two women were devastated, but they needed to get to another queue for general visit.
