Budget Travels: Dublin, Ireland

For the past four years, I lived in Dublin, Ireland, only moving home this past June. While the main purpose of my time abroad was to study, I had plenty of time to play tourist in Dublin, discovering some of the coolest (and cheapest!) spots in the city. No matter your budget, these activities will get you a feel for the city without being a strain on your wallet!

Trinity College Dublin

I am now an alumna of Trinity College Dublin and while some might feel that clouds my view, it would be remiss to visit Dublin without visiting the college. Built in 1594, it boasts some stunning architecture and, most importantly, free entry! The campus is especially beautiful in the springtime when the trees and flowers are in view. Grab a coffee and pastry from a nearby cafe (Bread 41 on Pearse Street or These Hands at Stephen’s Green have my recommendation) and stroll through the grounds or sit in the Rose Garden or at the Cricket Pitch, my favorite spots to people-watch.
