What Is a Commercial Freight Double Brokering Scam?

You’ve completed your commercial freight load delivery as agreed upon and everything went smoothly. Even better than your normal loads, actually- because you’ve signed up for Quick Pay on this particular job. You don’t think much of it when the broker doesn’t answer the first phone call. Maybe he is busy? However, when the broker doesn’t answer the 5th and 6th phone calls or return the email/s you’ve sent, you start to worry. The day that it was agreed upon for you to be compensated via Quick Pay comes and goes. Now you are very worried. You finally get in contact with the shipper or consignee of the freight only to be informed that they have already paid for this particular transaction- and do not intend to pay for it again. You have been the victim of the dreaded Double Brokering Scam.
