Barcelona from Board & Dice — Review

Theme and What is it?

You play the builders in 19th century Barcelona who are tasked with rebuilding the city following the plans of Cerda, an architect credited as one of the originators of Modernism. Over the course of the game you’ll be constructing homes for the citizen moving to the city, roads, tram lines, and tiling the sidewalks. You’ll need to balance Cerda’s wishes against the desires of the wealthier citizens as you attempt to construct the city in all of its glory.

Initial Impressions

Going into this I’d already seen a couple of game play videos; thus, I already kind of knew what to expect from the game. I was not prepared for how beautiful this production was out of the box. I was struck by the beauty of this game; the use of color and patterns was stunning. I was very excited to get this to the table.

Website
