This 1 Big Idea Will Change The Way You Think About Your Time

“Our most important asset is our time”

You’ve probably heard this before.

But most people don’t believe me when I say you’ll be way more aware of your time if you think about everything as practice.

Sometimes we practice good things and sometimes bad — no matter what, we practice something. And the things you choose to practice will have a tremendous impact on your life.

But, you need to focus on practicing the right things and avoid practicing the wrong things.

Intentional- And Unintentional Practice

In every moment of life we’re practicing something.

Sometimes we practice intentionally — but more often we’re not aware of what we’re actually practicing.

I will elaborate.

Let’s say you want to learn a skill or to be better at something e.g you want to learn Spanish. You’ll probably read books, listen to podcasts, take lessons etc. in Spanish. This is “intentional practice”

Everything else than intentional practice is “unintentional practice”

So, when you don’t do the dishes right after eating, you unintentionally practice procrastination. When you sit with a rounded back, you practice bad posture. When you smile and say “thank you” you practice gratitude. When you go for a run, even if you don’t feel like it, you practice toughness, determination and fitness. When you think about what others might think about you, you unintentionally practice insecurity.
