<p>The first was an elephant charity, ‘<a href="https://spaceforgiants.org/" rel="noopener ugc nofollow" target="_blank">Space for Giants</a>’, which reduces conflict between people and elephants in Africa. They erect fencing around small farms. People who depend on their farms for their livelihood sometimes shoot elephants if the animals are raiding their crops.</p>
<p>The farmers depend on those crops to feed themselves and their families for the year. If the elephants raid the farm, the crops are eaten or destroyed, leaving the family without enough to eat. I think some of them might sell the crops too, so their livelihood is destroyed.</p>
<p>The sturdy elephant-proof fencing erected by the charity stops this from happening. The elephants move on to find food elsewhere, and everyone is alive and well — humans and animals.</p>
