Betz Sphere: the “end-of-the-world object
<p>It was May 26, a hot morning, when Terry went for a walk in the forest of Fort George Island, east of <strong>Jacksonville</strong>, Florida. He wanted to see the state of those lands after the fire had been put out days before, so he entered the smoking thicket, making his way through the ash and charred trees. And that’s when he caught his attention with something shiny on the floor. It was a sphere.</p>
<p>It was a completely spherical metal ball with only one mark: a triangle. Terry Mathew Betz was 21 years old and a medical student, and the first thing he thought when he saw her was that it would be some kind of military material, even — why not? — from some satellite that had fallen from the sky. And what did our protagonist do then? What if any of us picked up the orb and <strong>took it home? </strong>It was something curious that the rest of the family also liked, <em>although not so much the dog in the house…</em></p>
