the beauty of summer

Hello Bookworms, this is quite a casual post, just something more of a journal entry if we must label it. I hate getting asked what my favourite season is, but it’s got to be either fall or summer. They contrast quite a bit in what they bring, but I find the one word that comes to mind is calm. As someone who can get overwhelmed easily, I find myself desperately searching to be calm, quiet…even controlled? I love love love being busy. Nothing makes me more uncomfortable than having nothing to do, no way to busy my mind and brain. Still, with social media and technology designed to consume our minds, I find myself yelling ENOUGH. During these months, especially summer, when obligations such as school are typically non-existent, it’s much easier to see this “calmness,” whatever that may be. It’s not necessarily a feeling or a sentiment but a lifestyle. It’s one where my days are busy, my nights are free, and I can take a deep breath whenever I need one. I don’t need to entertain people that exhaust me, and I can really direct my life.
