<p>Illness rates at the top of the bane pile for every single living thing. Because, ultimately, it threatens our very existence if sickness is not reversed. If you’re more optimistic, being sufficiently under the weather prompts us to take better care of ourselves, ideally addressing our immune systems. Some even view a lifelong handicap of illness or disability from the enlightened insights others will never fully see. Consider the blind who have heightened senses or the bedridden who read extensively. You have likely met these wise and gifted misfits who bring odd perspectives to our more simplified and streamlined thinking, too often closed off to alternative ideas. “Bran” in his wheelchair on <em>Game of Thrones</em> comes to mind.</p>
