Bandhavgarh Journal - Chakradhara from Tala

Tala Zone, considered the most beautiful area in Bandhavgarh for scenic and photographic views, consists of some of the region's most famous historic spots, an ancient forest with ruins now inhabited by Tigers. The name Bandhavgarh comes from combination of Bandhav + Garh which means brother’s fort. It is derived from the ancient fort in the jungle that was gifted by Lord Ram to his brother Lakshman.

The Shesh Shaya, a magnificent 11-meter-long sculpture depicting Lord Vishnu in a reclining pose, graces the main entrance of the footpath leading to the Bandhavgarh Fort, accompanied by the "Shesh Nag" umbrella, "Shivling," and "Lord Brahma." It stands near the source of the river Charan ganga, the lifeline of the park, providing perennial inundation to waterholes and ponds for flora and fauna.
