Immersed in the Trail of Celibacy: A Journey toward Inner Purity and Balance in Buddhism
<p>Despite being at the beginning of my journey into Buddhism and not having committed to a life as a monk or being very active in traditional Buddhist practices, I have recognized the importance of purity in my daily existence. A topic that is often discussed and attributed significant weight in Buddhist practice is celibacy. Although I am not part of the strict regimen of a monk, the concept of living a life of increased purity and self-discipline has strongly appealed to me.</p>
<p>Celibacy, or abstaining from sexual relationships, is often associated with Buddhist monks and nuns. Their lives are dedicated to following strict ethical rules, including abstaining from intimate relationships in order to attain higher spiritual insight and liberation from desires and attachments. But in the modern society, where most of us do not adhere to the strictest interpretation of Buddhist practices, the concept of practicing a form of purity in our lives can still be both valuable and enlightening.</p>
