<p>Although Wight is gone, his story survives in a diary he supposedly wrote. In the 1950s, Wight was a UFO enthusiast from Michigan.</p> <p>Wight was aware of Richard Shaver&rsquo;s claims, published in the 1940s in the science fiction magazines Ziff Davis Amazing Stories and Fantastic Adventures, that the remains of two advanced races, the tero, and dero (good and evil, respectively), lived in vast caverns beneath the surface of the earth. Although Wight was skeptical of these claims, he was interested in cave exploration, which he indulged in with David L., to whose mimeographed newsletter Wight contributed a regular column.
