ARE WE NOTHING BUT THE VOICES IN OUR HEADS?

Thoughts are like fugitives on the run here and gone so quickly we barely notice them at all until one, just one forces our attention and we become its prisoner wondering why this thought and not another.

Perhaps it is an angry thought that progresses to another angry thought and another and another.

OR perhaps it is a delightful thought that generates a string of more delightful thoughts.

70,000 THOUGHTS PER DAY. NO WONDER WE ARE EXHAUSTED.

Even in sleep our thoughts are busy sorting out all the information we processed during the day. We dream dreams we do not understand yet we are the creator of them.

Our heads have dulled our senses with constant, relentless chattering.

We can describe….

The sweetness of ripened berries but do we TASTE it?

The sound of melodious music but do we HEAR it?

The vibrant color of a rose in full bloom but do we SEE it?

The soft pillow upon which we lay our heads but do we FEEL it?

The pungent soup brewing in the pot but do we ACTUALLY SMELL it?

“Don’t think. FEEL,” Bruce Lee said, “It’s like a finger pointing at the moon. Do not concentrate on the finger or you will miss all the glory.”
