Art, Space, and the Flight of Imagination: Exploring the Relationship between Philosophy, Birds, and Appreciation for Soaring

Transcending Boundaries: Art, Philosophy, and the Space In Between

In the realm of art, it is often argued that art lacks intrinsic taste. Instead, it is deeply intertwined with our personal experiences, histories, and a tendency that affirms our daily lives while seeking harmonious evolution. Language, within this context, plays a pivotal role in expressing the interest behind artistic gestures and creative desires. It informs us, enriches us through the experiences of others, and enables us to develop our own thoughts, nourished by personal knowledge and framed by our lived experiences.

In the field of art, language can be considered one of the privileged means of expression. However, it is worth pondering why artists often feel the need to explicitly explain their visual works. Does this approach limit the spectator by hindering the experience and emotions that one could feel when encountering an artwork? Wouldn’t it be preferable to let the visual space transmit the artistic message without the need for explicit verbal explanations?

In this research project, I propose a deep exploration of the various dimensions of the relationship between art, space, and the spectator. I will draw upon diverse references and artistic theories to support my arguments and shed light on this intricate relationship. Simultaneously, I will highlight my own artistic work centered around birds, movement, and space.

Learn More
