Designed as an Afterthought

<p>I browse YouTube sometimes. I am part of YouTube&rsquo;s biggest demographic after all. The other day while on a YouTube excursion, I saw a video pop up in my recommendations. It was a video about the Boston Dynamics robot Atlas.</p> <p>The presenter Cleo Abram asked a question: why are companies like Boston Dynamics, Tesla, Honda, and others designing robots with legs? The straightforward answer Boston Dynamics gave was &ldquo;For me, legs are about access. Your opportunity to go more places is just better [with legs].&rdquo; And from that, I took that our world is designed for things that walk.</p> <p><strong>Ouch.</strong>&nbsp;I&rsquo;ve never been slapped in the face with the fact this hard. I guess I was able to skirt around the fact with simple thoughts like &mdash; it would be nice if this store were accessible.
