<p>There are 13 types of otter in the world, of all different shapes and sizes. Members of the otter family include the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giant_otter" rel="noopener ugc nofollow" target="_blank">South American giant otter</a> — which can reach up to 1.7m in length; the Asian <a href="https://taronga.org.au/animal/small-clawed-otter" rel="noopener ugc nofollow" target="_blank">small-clawed otter</a> — the smallest of the otter family; and the sea otter, the heaviest, weighing in at up to 45kg.</p>
