Recreate Adobe AfterEffects With SFX Using SwiftUI

Few companies can claim to have invented a verb or at least repurposed one. Verbs that were are the same across every language worldwide. The most famous is perhaps “Google.” You google something, meaning you look it up.

Although there is an even earlier one more insidious than that, so much so that it has almost detached itself from the original owner, namely “photoshop.” Photographs are described as being photoshopped even if the Adobe app, “Photoshop,” wasn’t used to change them, but I guess Adobe doesn’t mind since it’s all free advertising.

Of course, today, Adobe has the world’s most extensive portfolio of creative apps and has quietly cornered the market with other apps like Adobe Illustrator and Adobe After Effects. The latter package is great for creating special effects on out-of-this-world videos. Join me here to see how we can use SwiftUI to recreate some SFX using attributed strings, animation, and a little Swift magic.
