Leadership Lessons from the Jets: Beyond Aaron Rodgers

<p>I&rsquo;ll admit, I&rsquo;m no avid sports fan. In fact, I can pretty much guarantee with 100% accuracy the number of times I&rsquo;ve thought about a football game after it ended: zero. But my husband is a lifelong Jets fan, so when our new neighbors invited us over to watch the game, I was in. If I&rsquo;m being honest, it was mostly because I am eager to build new friendships closer to home after moving to CT from NYC.</p> <p>And I&rsquo;m glad I did. I&rsquo;ve spent the greater part of the past few days thinking deeply about the lessons we can draw from looking back at the outcome of a game that had Mt. Everest sized anticipation, a whiplash of soul shattering disbelief and disappointment &mdash; at least for Jets fans across the world, and then the unbelievable OT ending play which led to triumph that had this non-football fan screaming like a banshee.</p> <p>Despite my lack of football expertise, I do have over 25 years studying human behavior and working with organizations to build cohesive cultures. Watching the Jets triumph showed me that progress lies in our ability to come together, not in the skills of any one savior.
