and I will hold your world briefly within mine.<br />
In a constellation of shadows<br />
and an empty canvas,<br />
the sun tilted that day,<br />
and the peonies waved to the lilacs of summer,<br />
bringing a respite of serenity<br />
to the likes of me wading across shallow water<br />
paddling my arms through muck and mire<br />
of a life distilled,<br />
standing at the crossroads,<br />
fragile as the fledgling<br />
learning how to fly.</p>
<p>Love turns the corner<br />
tender as the sweetest kiss,<br />
indented is my heart searching for myself.<br />
Have you felt the sunset<br />
with both eyes wide open?<br />
Have you swallowed morsels of poetry<br />
