Recently, I went to a restaurant for a quick review piece with my husband. I was looking around and noticed something pretty unusual. My husband and I had silently co-opted some of the styles of the wealthy in our area.
It wasn’t an overt or even conscious choice. It just kind of happened when we started to walk away from the rave scene — and it’s much more apparent with my husband than it is with me. (I’m a little too eccentric to ever fully conform to fashion standards; my clothes are a canvas that I like to flaunt, too.)
I looked around and then noticed something stranger. There were a *lot* of people wearing khaki and navy blue pants. Granted, this was an old money hangout that’s even written in the name: the Yacht Club. But I digress.
