My Fashion Journey

My earliest memory of my journey into fashion was having a fitting for a coat when I was about three years old. It was early 60s and my family weren’t affluent so my mother would make her own clothes and that naturally led to her making mine.

I was asked to stand on a chair — a request which later in my childhood created great expectation and excitement in me because I knew it meant there was a hem to be pinned and I would soon be able to wear the garment I had seemingly waiting years for, even though it would only have been a couple of weeks at the most.
