UX/UI case study on an artist???s site

Nena is an artist based in Brazil. She sells digital paintings on the internet through social networks. With a plan in mind to expand her online presence, she wanted to have a professional website. We had met before and had a discussion to determine how we would build this.

First, we discussed color and typography. She desired vibrant, positive, and youthful colors. I proposed using a shade of pink as the primary color and a bright red as the secondary color because it is a bold, attention-grabbing choice for ‘call-to-action’ elements, such as warning messages, to make them stand out. Following that, we chose ‘Nunito’ as the main typeface for the core site. Why? Because it is a humanist typeface, and given our focus on art, it effectively conveys the message we aim to deliver: handmade art for the people. Even the logo was made by hand. Regarding other minor design elements, we embraced a neutral approach on the site. The site is nenanee.com.
