This escape attempt involves an inmate who was born, coincidentally, exactly 111 years and one day before I wrote this post. Huron Ted “Terrible Ted” Walters worked extensively with Floyd Hamilton, who tried to escape from Alcatraz on two separate occasions, once in 1941 and again in 1943. Mere months after this second attempt, Walters decided it was his turn.
