Working at our local Senior Center was the highlight of my day. One afternoon, one of the sweet ladies I’ll call Eleanor asked me if I would mind running her into town to visit the local Walmart. I agreed to take her that afternoon.
Upon arriving at the local Walmart, I asked her what aisle we should start. “The Senior Sneakers Aisle,” she replied. I paused for a few moments as I got my bearings. Eleanor continued, “I’m joining a club and need to fit in.”
Smiling, I took her to the shoe department. Here, she found the sneakers that she wanted, and she picked out two pairs. She was then ready to go back home. I was rather surprised that she only wanted to buy two pairs of sneakers at the store and nothing else, but she said she was done, so we left.
