I’ll be the first to say my degrees don’t mean what most people think they mean. Yes, I have three degrees. My doctorate is a terminal degree and the highest degree one can obtain in my field. I have post-doctoral research experience and was a faculty member at a large university in the US. That and a quarter will get you a hot cup of jack squat.
Given my experience, the only thing my ‘credentials’ accurately say about me is that I have stamina. Sure, I can recall from memory a whole lot of biological factoids, but so can the internet. I guess another related skill is that I am really good at research. But I had that skill already, my education just gave me a lot more practice time.
