I took little comfort in his statement. I didn’t see any dead bodies under stones, nor any skulking criminals.
I did see a heightened police presences, though. I assumed they were going door-to-door looking for witnesses. I doubted they’d find any. It’s a safe neighborhood, and I don’t think people tend to be looking out their windows to see who’s walking by.
